Mines View Park is definitely one of the places to visit in Baguio especially for the first-time visitors.
Aside from its cold temperature, natureโs view is the other top reason why I would always want to visit the City of Pines. A park overlooking the Cordillera mountains, Mines View Park Baguio offers one of the scenic sights in the place.
Together with the other beautiful places in Baguio like The Wright Park and Strawberry Farm, you may not want to miss Minew View Park in your Baguio itinerary.
Mines View Park Baguio
Mines View Park is conveniently located near the city center close to other tourist destinations in Baguio like The Mansion and Botanical Garden. The place was name as such because it overlooks the abandoned mining town of Itogon.
Mines View Park Baguio Souvenir and Food Stalls
Upon arriving at Mines View Park Baguio City, several souvenir stalls welcomed us. As we entered the park, we saw different kinds of plants being sold. You can buy desk plants with a price starting at PHP50. Others cost around PHP100-PHP150 like eggplant and chilli plants. They also make good souvenirs from Baguio. There were a number of food stalls and vendors as well where you can buy snacks while going around.
Going down further, we walked through concrete staircase. Tourists were busily doing two things: taking pictures with horses and renting Cordillera native costume (for only PHP20). Some wore the costume and had their photo taken with the Cordillera Mountain as background. Cool idea!
Mines View Park Baguio Viewing Deck
Continuing to walk, we finally reached the ridge where a small gazebo is located. A lot of people flocked the viewing deck to snap those photos with nature as background. You can even rent a binocular for PHP20. The sight of the green mountains was just relaxing to see! Despite the busy crowd, staring blankly at nature is comforting. So if you plan to visit Mines View Park Baguio in a more quite time probably to indulge yourself in a more contemplating mood, better not to go on weekends or peak season.
Good Shepherd Convent Baguio
Not for away from Mines View Park Baguio is Good Sheperd Convent. Popular Baguio sweets can be bought here as โpasalubongโ like ube jam and peanut brittle. Good Shepherd Conventโs ube jam is my favorite! I can consume one jar in a day and I like it better when itโs put in the refrigerator. We even saw some locals peeling some โubeโ. Buying the conventโs products actually help Cordillera students go to school.
They also have a viewing deck where you can grab some photos with the mountains as background.
After enjoying a lovely view form the park, check out some restaurants in Baguio, too!

I lived a few summers in Baguio, and then a bit in the Asin artists area. Makes me wanna visit again.
I’ve never heard of “ube”… is it a root? Kind of looks like it. What an interesting place to visit! Can’t say I’ve ever seen a place where you can get your picture taken with a pink horse before today! Haha
Ahh the land of nostalgia. Mines View Park is such a charm. I went there this year for the Mines View Park Hotel, but I would love to come back to just take in the sights of the mountain.
Baguio is a memorable place for me. The first time I was there, it was during our honeymoon, the 2nd time, I was with my entire family (parents & siblings) plus our 11 month old son at that time. I don’t know when we could go back there, I have a feeling, maybe when we have our 2nd child! lol!
Such a busy place. Although there are a lot of places to visit in Baguio City, I still love going to Mines View Park. I am now craving for some Ube Jam because of your post! Best Ube Jam eveeeeeer!
Seeing your travel post made me remember how much I spent time with my room & bed this summer… Hahaha. What a bummer. It’s been years since I’ve last been to Baguio.. Happy you enjoyed and had a good time babe.

I haven’t visited mine’s view in ages! Glad to know that it’s still popular. I got giddy when I saw all the flowers and plants for sale. I’m definitely going to visit the next time I’m in Baguio. ๐
I feel that its so commercialized now and it’s really a double edged sword. It’s good for the economy but I feel that the culture is slowly fading away.
Last time I went here is 2 years ago. The place is great it just that it is a bit crowded when we went there. Oh those pink haired horses, they are cute ๐ Glad that you and your family enjoyed your visit there ๐
You got wonderful photos that captures Mines View in a different view. I wonder if Good Shepherd already expanded? It looks different though or maybe you just got a different angle.
OMG! I MISS BAGUIO! Seeing this post of yours makes me want to go back there and see what it looks like now. The last time I was there was 2009, so I’m sure it looks different now. Great photos, by the way! ๐
We’ve been here last month but sadly, it was just a quick visit since we were just side tripping in Baguio from our hike in Benguet. We could’ve walked around the area and appreciate it’s full offering. We didn’t even catched the Good Sheperd as it was already closed. Too bad. Good thing we were able to but Ube Jam somewhere in the area of Mines View, and it also became my favorite. I can even finish a jar in a day just like you. That’s the most delicious ube jam I tasted to date. Will surely buy more when we visit Baguio next time. And will also definitely try to wear the Cordillera native costume. ๐ Thanks for this post, as if I’ve also walked around the park. ๐
The horse and my little BellaPoo must have the same groomer. They both have pink hair. Looks like a great place to visit. Thanks for sharing
