Costa Pacifica is one of the Baler resorts where you can experience amazing waves while indulging in a fancy vacation.
When we hear about Baler beach, the first thing that comes to mind is surfing. The next best thing that you might come across is Costa Pacifica. It was one of those summer outings we had at work that I was able to visit Costa Pacifica. Personally, I consider it not only one of the best resorts we’ve been to but also one of the most fun corporate getaways we had (I think my colleagues will agree).
We certainly traveled to Aurora for Baler surfing. But we definitely had a memorable and remarkable stay at Costa Pacifica.
Costa Pacifica Baler
Costa Pacifica is closely located along Sabang Beach in Baler, Aurora. It has 78 fancy rooms that can accommodate even large groups. For a nice family vacation, your fur babies won’t be left behind because they also allow pets at the place (you can request for pet beds).
From Costa Pacifica, you get a wonderful view of Sabang Beach. Walk for less than a minute and you will find yourself strolling at Baler sands. I really like the refreshing and tropical vibe of Costa Pacifica – beautifully landscaped lawns and surrounding coconut trees.
Accommodation
The room that we got is the Pacifica Suite located near Costa Pacifica’s surfing shop. The full length glass windows allow for that cool view. It has a nice private veranda as well where you can get a glimpse of the beach. When you wake up in the morning, you’ll definitely feel motivated to surf. I also really like the colorful and chill vibe of Costa Pacifica’s rooms.
You may also want to get the rooms facing Sabang Beach. At the second level, you can just unwind at the balcony while enjoying the cool ocean breeze.
The air-conditioned room has a mini-bar with complimentary refreshments, a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee makers, safety deposit box, and luggage rack. Equipped with hot and cold shower, the bathroom is also complete with toiletries, bath towels, and linens.
We also availed their massage service and we had it done in our room.
Restaurant and Food
Costa Pacifica has a pleasant restaurant and really great food. I love that they served tuyo and champorado for breakfast. They also have the famous suman de baler.
Swimming Pool
If you’re not in the mood to surf, Costa Pacifica has nice pools as well where you can just sit back and relax.
Sabang Beach Baler
Travel time to Baler is around 5 to 6 hours. Baler is one of the famous surfing destinations in the country that you can easily drive from Manila. There are a number of Baler beaches where you can enjoy magnificent waves but one of the popular ones is Sabang beach. Costa Pacifica is closely and conveniently located along Sabang beach.
You will notice along the stretch of Sabang beach several surfing guides offering lessons. There are also various bars and restaurants nearby. It’s also nice to stroll in the afternoon watching the busy surfing scene at the beach and then grab some snacks at a local store.
Baler Surfing
My first surfing experience was at San Juan Surf resort in La Union. It took me a long time to hit the waves once more that’s why I was really excited coming to Costa Pacifica Baler to surf again.
Baler surfing season is from September to February although waves are present all year round. If you’re an avid surfer, you may want to go during the peak Baler surfing season for you to better enjoy. Our group went around May and though waves were not that humongous, we still had fun surfing. If you’re a beginner like me, the off-peak waves are cool enough to experience surfing.
The best time of the day to surf is in the early morning and or in the late afternoon. We chose early in the morning as there might be more people in the afternoon. Costa Pacifica has their own surfing shop and instructors that provide lessons. We were supposed to avail their service but early as we were, there were other guests that came before us. Surfing lessons last for an hour and we don’t want to wait so we walked along Sabang Beach to find other trainers. Surfing lesson costs PHP300-PHP500 including the use of board. You can also opt to just rent the board if you don’t need an instructor anymore.
Note that there are a lot of trainers offering surfing lessons along Sabang beach. But there are those with some sort of license, they have IDs showing that they are certified instructors.
Overall
Costa Pacifica is definitely one of the best Baler aurora beach resorts you can find. If given the chance to come back in Baler, I would want to stay again in the place. I like the entire vibe of Costa Pacifica from its chill room to its tropical atmosphere. I also appreciate how things are easily accessible – the restaurant, the pool, and even the beach. The ocean view from the rooms is also refreshing.
