With the summer heat continuing to sprawl all over the metro, we found Blue Coral beach resort to give us a refreshing atmosphere. Situated three to four hours away from Manila, we packed our things and headed our way to Laiya, Batangas.
There were already a lot of guests when we arrived as there were also a number of companies having their summer outing and team building at Blue Coral. Given only a sweet and swift a-day-and-a-half deadline to enjoy Blue Coral’s summer haven, we took our privilege to plunge into their inviting beach and pool.
Beach
Blue Coral offers clean and clear beach water with white sand. Just be careful with some jellyfish. The water also gets suddenly deep, you can notice the swimming border just a few feet away from the shore. Several nipa huts and lounge chairs are situated just near the shore where you can opt to relax with a serene view of the sea.
Swimming Pool
Many resorts in Batangas do not have pools, giving Blue Coral an edge as they treat guests with both adult and kiddie pools. You will notice that the pool water is warm and clean. Since the place is small, pools are easily accessible to all rooms. Nearby shower areas and pool lounge chairs are also provided.
Accommodations
Our group stayed in suite and poolside rooms. For the suite, there are three beds (2 queen size and 1 double size) and a living room area with T.V. (channels are disrupted) and mini refrigerator. Three extra mattresses are also given. The room is very spacious for 12 people.
Poolside room also had three beds (2 double size beds and 1 double deck bed) with T.V. and mini refrigerator. Two extra mattresses are also supplied. You can get an extra mattress for an additional cost. Both rooms are air-conditioned.
Bathroom is also big (with a huge bathtub that was not really inviting to use) but looked old and had a weird smell (according to the staff, it was not included in the renovation they had). What I liked with this room is its wide veranda facing the beach where you can unwind while catching a glimpse of the sea or the sunrise.
Food
For an overnight stay, there is a mandatory meal package including dinner, breakfast, and lunch which must be paid on top of the accommodations per person. All are buffet meals.
Blue Coral serves Filipino dishes with a combination of meat and vegetable choices, rice and dessert. Coffee and juice are overflowing. Overall, food is average. Among the three meals, I enjoyed lunch the most.
A good number of staff is serving the buffet table. You have to present the stub they gave each time you’ll eat. They also had scheduled time for the meals which usually lasts for two hours (Breakfast: 7AM–9AM, Lunch: 11AM–1PM, Dinner: 6:30PM–8:30PM).
Water Activities
Aside from swimming, you can choose to have fun with the following water activities/facilities:
- Kayak
- Jetski
- Banana Boat
- Snorkeling
- Speedboat
Overall
With fine, white sand beach, Blue Coral is definitely one of the must visit getaways in Batangas. It may be pretty jam packed during peak season but I like how the entire resort is small enough that the different facilities are easily accessible. The warm water pool is also a stealer for me. Without second thoughts, Blue Coral is easily a favorite go-to destination near Manila.

Blue Coral Beach Resorts looks like very friendly and accommodating resorts who understand the needs of Filipino culture who like to go by the group of people and by the whole family member. I really appreciate the idea of sharing the room and bond with the family and friends during the vacation. Very relaxing place.

Everything looks acceptable until the deal breaker. Noise. Whenever I am travelling and staying in beach resorts, the one thing I absolutely hate is the noise, especially music blasting my ear drums. I prefer staying in a quiet resort where I can relax to the max.
Having said that, I suppose it is easy to ask prior to booking if there are any other team activities scheduled.

This looks like a nice resort, and at least it’s not too far and no need to take a plane ride. It can be counted as a place for a quick get away. Nice also that its small and there’s no need for a car or trike to get around. Good to know also that his beach is clean and well maintained, unlike some where there is a lot of trash. I also enjoy swimming in the pool with the ambiance of the beach, so this resort could work for me. The accommodations seem comfortable as well and spacious. Too bad lang that food is average since that is quite important to me
This looks like a good option to chill with friends–plus it’s not to far from the metro. Blue Coral looks pretty affordable too with lots of amenities the whole group will enjoy.
It looks lovely, but I have to say, I would not be impressed if it was over run by companies having team building exercises! It I was to go to a resort like this I would want to relax. The food looks incredible though!

I’ve been to a couple beaches and resorts in Batangas but basing from the looks, I think this one is surreal and extremely beautiful. I would love to explore this place myself and have my family with me. I just love how the Philippines has an endless stream of hidden natural beauties.

While common areas like the pool and the restaurant look decent, the rooms look quite basic. This is a good choice for team outings and group holidays.

The rooms are a bit pricey. I think the beaches on that side of Batangas have their share of Jelly fishe and sea urchins, I should know, I was stung by a sea urchin last maundy thursday, haha!
