Crescent Moon Cafe is a charming and colorful restaurant in Antipolo, Rizal that serves Southeast Asian inspired dishes.
After our visit to Pinto Art Museum, we found ourselves heading our way to Crescent Moon Cafe. We were in a hurry because we were all starving as we took so much time exploring the art gallery. The funny thing was when we were following waze for the location of Crescent Moon Cafe, we cannot seem to find it. We had been driving around in circles in the same area for a number of times already, still there was no sight of the famous Antipolo cafe.
The search felt like taking forever since we were all on a hungry stomach. We started asking residents of the place for direction and after a long while, we finally reached Crescent Moon Cafe.
Crescent Moon Cafe Antipolo
Established in 1997, Crescent Moon Cafe is a favorite restaurant and art space in Antipolo City. They mainly serve Southeast Asian inspired dishes. The place got its name from the make-believe restaurant of the owners’ children that was called Crescent Moon which was based from the quilted crescent moon hanging from the wall of their bedroom.
The restaurant has a colorful and relaxing vibe. You can even go around their nice garden for a refreshing walk. Not only does Crescent Moon Cafe serve great food, it also houses a stoneware ceramic shop.

There were a number of dishes that we tried as soon as we were able to settle down. The good food compensated for the time we lost our way. If there’s anything you should not miss at the place, it’s their in-house Alagao salad and their homemade suman (sticky rice).
Alagao salad is the cafe’s version of the Thai street food miang kham. To eat this healthy dish, you just use the alagao leaves to wrap the ingredients including coconut, basil, chili, ginger, onion, green mango/kamias, dried shrimp, and peanut sauce.
For dessert, you should definitely try their suman uniquely paired with ripe mango. Add a cup of coffee as well and everything will be complete.
Stoneware Ceramic Shop and Pottery
If you’re in the mood for some shopping, Crescent Moon Cafe has shelves for their beautiful handmade stoneware ceramics that you can purchase. They have plates, mugs, and decorative items among others. Ceramic artist Lanelle Abueva-Fernando has been producing beautiful ceramic products for more than three decades already. Her ceramic products have made it not only into lovely households but in luxurious restaurants and hotels as well.
Lanelle Abueva-Fernando is also known as a pioneer of the art of pottery. From time to time, they also hold their pottery classes.
Overall
Even if our lunch was a bit delayed, we really enjoyed our time at Crescent Moon Cafe. We got to try their delicious and healthy food. I actually miss the unique suman and mango combo. Not only did I like the colorful motif of the place, the casual atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing time with family and friends. Driving from Manila, eating at Crescent Moon Cafe is taking the time to unwind as well. I’m really looking forward to be back at the place. Hopefully I’d be able to buy some of the beautiful ceramics they have and also I would want to take home some suman.
