How to Get to Coron Palawan from Manila
Several airlines in the Philippines, including budget ones, offer Coron Palawan flights. Getting from Manila to Coron, you can fly for around an hour and arrive at Busuanga island.
Alight at Busuanga airport, also known as Francisco B. Reyes airport. You then have to travel by land from Busuanga airport to Coron town that can take about 45 minutes to an hour.
If you avail any Coron tour package or book any resorts in Coron Palawan, round trip airport van transfer is usually included.

I first visited Palawan in 2012 after chancing upon a cheap airfare in a travel expo. My friend, who was traveling with me, was then able to find an affordable Coron accommodation at Coron Village Lodge. She really made a good choice as the lodge was truly bang for the buck.
The travel scene was starting to make noise these days and Palawan was definitely among the top choices for an island getaway. However, there were still not so many options for Coron Palawan resorts. So if you’ll look for where to stay in Coron at the time that is within budget, lodges and inns are your selections.

About Coron Village Lodge
Coron Village Lodge started as a family house. However, the owners had to transfer to Manila for their children’s education. The house was then left to a housekeeper and gardener who both maintained the place.
As the humble town was starting to gain attention, tourists were in search for where to stay in Coron. There was not much accommodation available at the time so travelers asked if they can lodge at the house. Since then, guests continue to come with the housekeeper attending to their needs.
Finally, the house was officially turned into a lodge where additional rooms were built. Today, Coron Village Lodge is a five-door apartment building with a total of 25 rooms. A function room, a restaurant, and a souvenir shop have been added as well.
Coron Village Lodge: Accommodations
Our group stayed in a two-storey apartment. On the first floor, the living room, dining area, and bathroom were located. The living room was furnished with a sala, television, and electric fan. The dining area was provided with a small table. The bathroom had towels but you have to bring your own toiletries.
We had two rooms on the second floor, both were air-conditioned. One room had three single beds. The other room had one family bed and a single bed. Rooms were decent and clean, one of which had a terrace overlooking the garden. If you feel like going to the bathroom during the night, you have to go down to the first floor.
Coron Village Lodge: Resto Bar and Food
For our meals, we just have to cross the street to the lodge’s restaurant. They prepared good food and in great amount of serving. They also offered unlimited coffee to guests (but you have to make your own).
The restaurant was furnished with wooden tables and had a mini bar. It was not air conditioned but it was ok. You can also see at the restaurant the travel souvenir collection of the owners. For leftovers, you can ask them to bring it in your room.
Coron Village Lodge Tour Package
Aside from accommodations, we also availed their Coron Palawan tour package (TOUR IA – 3 days 2 nights).
Coron Village Lodge provided us the following for our three-day stay in Coron: six meals, entrance fees to all destinations, round trip van transfers from the airport, transfers to Coron pier, and a trained guide.
The following attractions in Coron Palawan were included in our tour:
– Coron town tour.
– Explore Maquinit Hot Spring and Mt. Tapyas.
– 1 day Coron island hopping tour: Twin Lagoons, Kayangan Lake, Siete Pecados, Banol Beach
Cristine, the guide that was assigned to us, was very commendable. Aside from being able to impart a lot of things about Coron, she arranged and prepared everything, from our food to our transportation. Things were well coordinated and we did not have any problems getting around.
Overall
Coron Village Lodge does not offer a luxurious ambiance that you get in lavish resorts. But it is where to stay in Coron if you want an affordable yet decent and comfortable place to spend your nights with. Along with their Coron tour package, you’ll get a worry-free vacation in the island. Overall, Coron Village Lodge gives you good value for money.
